Single Fin Sunday Session

Single Fin’s Sunday Session is one of Uluwatu’s longest-running weekly parties. The multi-level bar hangs off the cliff above the Uluwatu surf break, and on Sundays it stays open late while the terrace fills with surfers, travellers and locals who come for sunset and stay for the music.

The appeal is simple: a front-row view of one of the world’s best-known left-hand reef breaks, cold drinks, and a party that builds from golden hour into the night. The venue itself bills it as the best Sunday session on the island.

About the event

Single Fin opens at 10:00 every day. From Monday to Saturday it closes at 22:00, but on Sundays trading extends until 01:00 to accommodate the session. Entry details are not published on the official site, so check with the venue on arrival.

Venue

Single Fin is on Jalan Mamo in Pecatu, near the Blue Point area and directly above the Uluwatu break and Suluban cave. The top terrace is best for views; lower levels are closer to the stairs down to the beach. The kitchen serves casual food, and the bar is known for cocktails and cold Bintang.

Before you go

• Arrive by 17:00 if you want a table with a sunset view – it fills fast.
• Getting there: about 45–60 minutes from Seminyak or Canggu; parking on Jalan Mamo is tight, so a scooter or driver is easiest.
• Getting home: the session runs until 01:00, so arrange your ride in advance.
• Surfers: check the tide and swell – on a good swell the show in the water is half the fun.

Make a day of it

The best way to do a Sunday at Single Fin is to treat it as the finale of a Bukit day. Surf or swim in the morning – Uluwatu itself for advanced surfers, or the beaches at Padang Padang, Bingin or Dreamland for everyone else – then head up to the terraces in the late afternoon. Order food early before the kitchen gets busy, grab a spot on the rail and watch the sets roll in as the light turns gold. When the music kicks in, the atmosphere changes quickly from surf-bar chill to full-on party. Dress is casual, but bring something warmer than a bikini for later – the clifftop can be breezy after dark.
