Sky Garden Bali

Sky Garden is one of Kuta’s best-known party landmarks: a five-floor entertainment complex on Jalan Legian that combines a main nightclub, the Sky Lounge, a Rooftop Garden Lounge and the Sky Dome. For years it was a rite of passage for backpackers and surf-trip crews in Kuta and Legian.

The venue closed in 2019 and reopened in December 2022, with the lounges opening from late afternoon and the club running late into the night. It remains firmly mass-market — cheap deals, big crowds and chart-friendly music.

The vibe

Loud, young and sociable. Early evening is about the rooftop and dinner deals; after 21:00 the club floors fill, and weekends run until 04:00. Expect a mix of Australian holidaymakers, domestic visitors and backpackers.

Food & drinks

The main draw is value. Guides report an early-evening barbecue buffet package (roughly 17:00–21:00) bundling unlimited food with several hours of selected drinks, plus cheaper drinks before midnight. Prices and packages change, so confirm at the door.

Music & nights

Resident DJs play commercial dance, EDM and hip-hop across the floors, with guest DJs on special nights, when entry may be higher.

Who it suits

Sky Garden is aimed squarely at budget-minded party-goers: backpackers, big groups and young travellers who want cheap drinks and a lively crowd in the middle of Kuta’s nightlife strip. It’s not a boutique experience, but it delivers volume, energy and value, and the rooftop offers views over Kuta’s lights early in the evening.

The venue has a complicated history, having been closed from 2019 until its reopening in December 2022, so it’s sensible to check its official social channels for current hours, deals and event nights before you go. Stick to sealed or bar-poured drinks you can see being made, stay with friends and use registered ride-hail apps to get back to your hotel after a late night on Jalan Legian.

Best time to go

Arrive between about 17:00 and 21:00 if you want the rooftop and the buffet-and-drinks deal, then stay for the club as it fills after 22:00. Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights; special DJ nights can carry higher entry. The venue is closed on Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence. Jalan Legian is lined with bars and clubs, so Sky Garden often forms one stop on a longer night out in Kuta. Many visitors start on the rooftop for early deals, move downstairs as the club fills and finish late. Carry only what you need, keep your phone secure and agree a meeting point with your group in case you get separated.
