About

Da Maria opened on Jalan Petitenget in 2016 and quickly became one of Seminyak’s most talked-about evening venues. It is led by Maurice Terzini, the Australian restaurateur behind Sydney’s Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, and its bright, open-sided interiors were designed by the Rome-based architects Lazzarini Pickering.

The concept is Italian at heart, Neapolitan-style pizza and handmade pasta, but the room is as much about atmosphere as food. After dinner the tempo lifts, the music gets louder and the space becomes one of the busiest late-night hangouts on the Petitenget strip. In 2026 the venue went through a reinvention while keeping its core Italian identity.

The vibe

Glamorous and buzzing. Early evening is for proper dinners, with families and couples filling the tables; later, the crowd shifts towards friends and groups who come for drinks and DJs. It’s a good choice when you want dinner and a night out in the same place.

Food & drinks

The kitchen focuses on contemporary Italian cooking. Pizzas are made in the Neapolitan style with light, airy crusts charred at the edges; the pasta is handmade; and there’s a selection of Italian mains to share. The bar covers Italian aperitivi, spritzes, wine and cocktails.

Events & functions

Da Maria hosts DJ nights and special events through the week, and its space can be booked for private functions via info@damariabali.com. Follow the venue’s official Instagram for current party nights and guest DJs.

Who it suits

Da Maria suits travellers who want great Italian food with a side of Seminyak glamour. It’s a strong pick for date nights and groups celebrating something, and the late-night atmosphere makes it a place to stay on after dinner rather than moving elsewhere. Families with children fit in well in the early evening, before the room shifts to a more adult crowd.

The team behind it brings experience from Sydney’s dining scene, and the attention to detail shows in both the food and the room, with its light, open design by Lazzarini Pickering. Since the 2026 reinvention, the menu and programming have been refreshed while keeping the Italian heart, pizza, pasta and a convivial, aperitivo-to-late spirit. Check the official channels for current event nights.

Best time to go

Come around 17:00–19:00 for aperitivo and an early dinner in a calmer room, or book a later table if you want to be there as the atmosphere builds. Weekends are the busiest and most social nights. In the rainy season, the open, airy room remains comfortable, making it a reliable all-year option.

Tips for your visit

  • Book dinner ahead, especially on weekends, it opens at 17:00 daily.
  • Arrive for an early aperitivo to secure a table before the late crowd.
  • Stay after dinner if you want the party; come early if you want conversation.
  • Contact the team on WhatsApp for large groups.
