About Seminyak
Seminyak is an urban village in Kuta District, just north of Kuta and Legian on the west coast. It is Bali's most polished beach town, with some of the island's highest land prices.
Its streets are lined with boutiques, spas, restaurants and villas, and the beachfront is home to landmark beach clubs such as Potato Head and KU DE TA, facing the sunset.
Seminyak covers about 2.65 km² and is divided into four neighbourhoods (lingkungan, also called banjar): Seminyak, Basangkasa, Jimbaran Carik and Tagtag. For customary and temple matters most of it belongs to the traditional village of Desa Adat Seminyak, while Banjar Basangkasa belongs to Desa Adat Kerobokan. Its shoreline includes Seminyak Beach, known locally as Camplung or Gado Gado Beach, along with the stretches called KuDeTa Beach and Double Six Beach. Jalan Raya Seminyak, also known as Jalan Legian, runs parallel to the sand as the main artery, with craft and furniture shops among its restaurants and bars. Seminyak suits travellers who want dining, shopping and spa time close to the beach, and it is also popular with expatriate residents.
