About Jimbaran

Jimbaran lies just south of the airport at the neck of the Bukit Peninsula, in South Kuta. It is still a working fishing village, and its crescent bay is famous for seafood grilled over coconut husks on tables set on the sand at sunset.

Luxury resorts line the hills and the southern end of the bay.

Jimbaran is a kelurahan (urban village) made up of 12 traditional banjar, among them Ubung, Menega, Tegal and Jero Kuta, and it sits right next to Nusa Dua and Ngurah Rai International Airport. Beyond the main bay, Muaya Beach and Tegal Wangi Beach offer more stretches of sand, and the village keeps several important temples, including Pura Ulun Swi and Pura Dalem Segara. Also nearby is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, about 10-15 minutes by car from the airport, where the monument stands 121 metres tall including its pedestal and was completed in 2018. Jimbaran is a convenient base for travellers who want beach days, seafood dinners and resort stays close to the airport.
