About
La Favela is one of Seminyak’s most recognisable nightspots, set on the main Oberoi strip. It takes its cue from the Brazilian favela, Indonesian jungle and underground bars, and its interiors are a deliberate riot: vintage furniture, heavily decorated corners, graffiti on the walls, semi-indoor gardens, artificial waterfalls and ponds.
It works as two venues in one. Early in the evening it’s a restaurant with alfresco tables tucked among the greenery; after about 23:00 the tables clear and it becomes a pulsing club that runs until the early hours.
The vibe
Loud, packed and fun. The dance floor gets shoulder-to-shoulder on weekends, with a mix of tourists, locals and party-focused travellers. Upstairs on the third floor, the speakeasy bar Attika offers a calmer alternative with better cocktails and deeper house and techno.
Food & drinks
Dinner runs from 19:00 to 23:00, with starters such as burrata, croquetas and patatas bravas and mains including pan-seared barramundi, grilled octopus and premium beef cuts. Groups of six or more are generally asked for a deposit per person.
Music & nights
Downstairs the playlist leans on commercial hits, hip-hop and reggaeton. The club gets going from around 22:00, and peak hours are after midnight.
Who it suits
La Favela is for travellers who want a full night out without moving venues. Book dinner in the garden, enjoy the extraordinary decor while it’s still calm, and then stay on as the club takes over. Groups of friends, birthday parties and first-time visitors to Seminyak make up much of the crowd. If you prefer conversation to crowds, the upstairs Attika bar is a smarter hideaway with more considered cocktails.
Because it gets very full, arrive before 23:00 if you want to avoid the queue, and look after your belongings on the packed dance floor. The venue’s location on the main Oberoi strip means you can walk to nearby bars and restaurants, making it a good anchor for a Seminyak bar crawl. Table reservations are the most comfortable way to do the night for groups.
Best time to go
Arrive for dinner from 19:00 to enjoy the gardens and decor while the venue is still calm, then stay as the club builds after 23:00. Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights, with the dance floor at its fullest after midnight. Midweek nights are more relaxed and easier for walk-ins.
Tips for your visit
- Smart casual is expected, no flip-flops, singlets, beachwear or gym clothes; closed shoes make entry easier.
- Cover for men after 22:00 is typically IDR 200k–250k including a drink; women usually enter free.
- Table minimums range from about IDR 4m to 20m depending on size and location.
- Book dinner to secure entry before the club queue forms.

Getting there
La Favela is on the busy Oberoi/Kayu Aya strip in Seminyak, walkable from most Seminyak hotels and 25–35 minutes from the airport. Parking is scarce, so walk or take Grab; drivers queue outside after midnight.
