Toya Devasya Hot Spring
About
Toya Devasya is a hot-spring resort at Toya Bungkah on the western shore of Lake Batur, set in the heart of the Batur caldera with the volcano rising above. Natural thermal water from the volcano feeds its pools, making it one of the most popular places to soak after a sunrise hike on Mount Batur, and a wellness stop in its own right on cool highland days.
The site has grown beyond the pools into a geopark resort, with The Ayu Kintamani villas, a hikers camp and a menu of excursions. It works well as a half-day visit from Ubud or as a base for exploring the caldera, the lake and the black lava fields.
What to expect
Most visitors come for a long soak in the warm spring-fed pools, looking out across the lake to the crater walls. You can then add a lakeside meal, or book activities such as Lake Batur tours, banana boat rides and cycling through farm areas. Sunrise jeep tours across the lava fields and guided treks to the summit are also run from here.
The pools sit close to the water’s edge, so you can soak while watching fishing boats on the lake and clouds rolling over the crater rim. On clear days the view of Batur is spectacular. The setting feels remote compared with the busy south, and the cooler highland air makes a warm soak especially inviting.
Packages & prices
Entrance fees and hours are not shown on the resort’s homepage, and third-party sellers quote varying ticket prices; tickets are sold through the Goers platform linked from the official site. Check before you go.

Safety & requirements
Hot water can raise your heart rate, so limit soaks if you have heart conditions or high blood pressure, avoid alcohol while bathing, and drink plenty of water, especially after trekking. Pregnant visitors should check with a doctor. Supervise children closely around the pools and lake.
Tips
- Visit straight after a Batur sunrise trek to ease tired legs.
- Bring swimwear, a towel and a warm layer; the caldera gets cool.
- Weekday mornings are quieter than weekends.
- Buy tickets online in advance if you are visiting at peak times.
- Stay overnight to catch the lake at dawn without an early drive.
The resort is also a practical base for exploring the caldera: the black lava fields, the villages around the lake and the Songan area are all close by. If you are doing a sunrise trek, arranging your soak here afterwards saves time and gives tired legs a well-earned rest.

Know before you go
Getting there
Drive down from Penelokan on the caldera rim to Toya Bungkah on the lakeshore, about 1 hour 15 minutes from Ubud. The road down into the caldera is steep and winding, so drivers are recommended.
