About
AMO has become Canggu’s go-to for modern recovery. Set over several levels on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, it blends a classic day spa with a bathhouse built around heat and cold – the contrast therapy that surfers, runners and CrossFit regulars have embraced. The result is part spa, part social club: people come for a massage, then linger in the sauna chatting with friends before a cold plunge.
What makes AMO distinct is that combination under one roof. Few places in Bali pair proper spa treatments, a beauty lab with its own signature oils and scrubs, a clinic-style menu of add-ons and a full bathhouse with steam, sauna, warm and cold pools. A jacuzzi looks out over a patch of rice field that has somehow survived Canggu’s building boom, and cold-pressed juices and health shots are made on site.
Treatments
The spa menu spans massage, body scrubs and wraps, facials, nails and wellness add-ons. Massages range from relaxing to deep and sports-focused, many designed with post-surf recovery in mind. The beauty side includes mani-pedis and facials, while add-ons such as CO2 carboxy therapy, Theragun release and full-body dry brushing let you customise a session.
Signature rituals
- AMO Bathhouse – access to the sauna, steam room, ice baths and Epsom salt pools; great before or after a massage.
- Give Me Oxygen Facial – a hydrating, brightening facial for sun-tired skin.
- Perfect Nails – the house manicure and pedicure.
- Post-surf recovery massage – focused on shoulders, back and legs.
- Recovery add-ons – Theragun release, dry brushing and CO2 carboxy therapy.
The space
The building is spread over several levels with lounging areas. The social sauna and lounging areas encourage people to hang out between rounds of hot and cold, while treatment rooms upstairs are private and quiet. The juice bar and café make it easy to spend a few hours here.
Booking tips
AMO is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00. Book spa treatments online in advance, especially at weekends and around sunset, when the bathhouse is busiest. If you are new to contrast therapy, start with short cold plunges and hydrate well; skip the ice bath if you are pregnant or have heart or blood pressure conditions. Bring swimwear for the bathhouse. Combining a bathhouse session with a massage is the best way to experience what AMO does differently.
Many regulars treat AMO like a gym: a bathhouse round of sauna, cold plunge and salt pool several times a week, with a massage every so often. Newcomers should aim for short rounds – a few minutes in the heat, a brief plunge, then rest – and build up gradually. The juice bar makes it easy to rehydrate between rounds. Booking online lets you pick a time and treatment in advance, and the late closing time means you can come after an evening surf.

Getting there
AMO is at No.69 Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, the main road down to Batu Bolong beach in Canggu, a few minutes' walk from the beach. It is 50–60 minutes from the airport in normal traffic. Scooter parking is available; Batu Bolong gets congested at sunset, so allow extra time by car.
